“How do I get rid of this feeling? What’s the problem? How do I solve it?”
These are the questions I asked myself when I woke up with a lot of sadness this morning.
We all do this. We try to solve the “problem” of our emotions so we can carry on with our day.
We see emotions as obstacles: scary, uncomfortable, and getting in the way of our to-do lists!
The problem with just “managing” our emotions and not engaging/processing them?
UNDIGESTED EMOTIONS STAY IN OUR BODIES and create heaviness, fogginess, and lethargy. And as the layers of undigested emotions build, the MORE INACCESSIBLE OUR CAREER (and life) VISIONS.
This week’s WELLNESS WEDNESDAY practice?
- When you wake up each morning, ask yourself what you’re feeling emotionally and BE HONEST.
- Journal about it, meditate on it, or walk it out.
How does this practice fit my definition of career wellness (definition here)?
Being deeply connected to self is a huge piece of CAREER WELLNESS and to this end, leaving space to process your emotions is absolutely essential.
